Floating/Detachable Mixer
I'd like to be able to undock the mixer so that I can see it in either view.

Re: Floating/Detachable Mixer
i dont think that ableton split the display. ableton live is an one screen solution. it means, all controls in one window.
i vote for a drag'n'drop mode to build your own screen layout!
if all available components have an ID, it will be possible to share a project with other users without layout binding.
science fiction? i hope no

Re: Floating/Detachable Mixer
please noooooooo - i love the two views - any change to this would make me cry - i don't like the floating mixer in cubase/pro tools - leave the session view alone.....

If you made it dock/undockable, you wouldn't have to undock it thus preserving the two views. I like that feature too.
But it would be handy to be able to float it over either view. I just find it more "real" to work with thats all.

Re: Floating/Detachable Mixer
I would really appreciate something like this! I dont use session view much (at all) as I do all my writing in arragement, and its an absolute cock having to swtich views all the time during mixdowns.
Want to change a tiny bit of automation then switch back to session then back to do more then bakc etc etc etc - very laborious.

Re: Floating/Detachable Mixer
+ also vote for an editable floating design (nice for 23"+ Displays), like the "view/workspace" option in many IDEs/3d/Video Apps
switch between Workspaces is a really usable option.
cheers

I don't use session view either and I do like the ability to have it floating and the ability to make it go away in Cubase.
+ another 1 for dock/undockable

Re: Floating/Detachable Mixer
Hi,
This is an old post, but.....
I was wanting a detachable floating mixer for years too.
So....
I built one, actually 32 different mixers with Max4Live.
They come as 8, 16, 24, 32, and 48 track versions.
There are 4 types:
Meter bar - the meters
Faders - the track faders
Mixer - full mixer with meters, faders, pan, aux sends
The mixers can be auto filled with tracks from your project
or tracks can be custom filled.
All the mixers can be found here:
https://sonicalchemyst.gumroad.com/
There are some free ones with less features here:
https://maxforlive.com/profile/user/SonicAlchemyst
Enjoy
