Sonar or Reaper ruined my Ableton set up...

Post by loubany » Sat Jul 11, 2009 8:49 pm

Okay, I installed Sonar 8 Demo, played around with it a little bit, but didn't like it so I uninstalled. I did the same with Reaper.

Problem:
Now when I open one of my beats in Ableton, it sounds a lot slower and all of the tracks seem to be detuned. Sort of like the master key shift is -1 or -2. Or better yet, it sounds like the sample rate is 32k! It doesn't sound like it previously used to sound before installing these crappy DAWs. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Ableton, but still no luck. I reg cleaned my hard drive, and the problem remains.

And to top it all off, I dont back up and I have system restore turned off like an idiot. Its like a kick in the teeth. Im so $&%#@ pissed off right now.

Can anybody help me out? I dont know what to do. Should I reinstall Sonar and Reaper to see if something can be done? I'd hate to do a fresh OS install.

Help this noob out!!!

This might sound obvious, but have you checked your soundcard settings? it maybe that Sonar changed something during the installation when it does its "wave profiling".
