Hi there, if I'm trying to make a bass sound heavier by getting rid of the hi freqs would I use a high cut (i.e EQ8) in the same way I would use a hi pass/low cut to EQ the bass from instruments etc?
Just trying to add more kick to the bass in my tracks and assumed it was the opposite to doing a hi pass!
Cheers

yes.
spend some time with EQ8 and use your ears. sometimes cutting the highs and putting a small boost at a low frequency can accentuate the bass just right. also look into "sidechaining" the kick drum into the bass track so the kick and bass work together.
