MIDI Control lost when I create a new instrument

Post by krismkelley » Tue Jul 14, 2009 3:10 am

I am a complete noob... and I'm sorry if this question has been answered many times. I've read the manual and searched the hell out of the forums, but to no avail.

I have an APC 40 and a NanoKontrol. When I create a new instrument in Session view I can play it just fine with my nanoKontrol. If I create a different instrument I can play it, but have no way of getting back to the first one. Even if I change the Midi ins from all ins to nanoKontrol. Something doesn't seem to be working, or I may just have no understanding of how this should all work. If someone can point me to where in the manual to look or give me another form of help that would be great.

Thanks in advance, this is driving me crazy. :x

I think by default live arms a new instrument track when you create it.

so try deselecting the record-enable (red rectangle) on the 2nd instrument and re-enabling it on the first.

that is assuming your monitors are set to 'auto'. you can also control it by setting one to 'in'

in = monitor input no matter what the status of recording
auto = monitor input when recording, monitor playback when not
out= monitor playback only (clips in the track)
