just reinstalled ableton live 5.0.1 on my NEW intel macbook (base level model with the all the regular stuff)
decided to install some free VST soundhack plugins (like bubbler and such which are GREAT plugins BTW)
anyway, started to scan for the plugins and got the spinning wheel of death because i chose a DIFFERENT location other than the default documents location where it defaulted at. so, i forced quit and went back and picked the documents folder as my plugin location...worked fine but apparently that's not where my plugins were located either. so picked a different spot ...to tell you the truth i don't remember which folder i picked(think it was system) but now i can't start up live 5 at all cuz it hangs up on "looking for customized VST plugins" or something to that effect so get the spinning wheel of death again and live won't start up. i'm guessing this has something to do with a config file somewhere???? I guess i should have stuck with the documents folder for the vst folder.
also, tried to update my live 5 earlier with version 5.2.(something) and it tried to make me enter in another serial number but i had already used up all installs.
used to run live 5 on a g4 so i'm new to this mac intel stuff.
any help would be appreciated and my specs for the macbook are that of a base level mac.
thanks
