Missing midi devices

Post by grimleyj » Tue Jan 25, 2005 7:23 am

I usually run rewired to SX3, but tonight I tried running standalone and now I can't access my midi ports (Steinberg Midex 8). The Active Devices page does not show my midi ports just the computer keyboard. Live 4.1. Any ideas?

On another note, how do I send midi from a clip in Live to a midi port when rewired to Cubase SX3?

are you running osx ?
if u r: i just had the same problem after downloading/installing the new security update...re-downloaded/re-installed system 10.3.7 and all is well again.
was weird because i thought it was a usb problem at first, but other usb devices were ok...just my midi interface and controller had disappeared...

Have you tried to contact Ableton directly through their support ? They do post clearly on the Forum title page

" Bugs & Problems
We are not monitoring this forum daily. For a fast answer please contact us."

They are usually good about getting back to you.

Try downloading maple midi and see if they show up as an option. You may be able to route through it instead.
