OPerator

Post by cane creek » Wed Feb 02, 2005 11:12 am

To me operator Demo is a BUg , I had no choise i had to install it , so now i have a demo on live which i don't want , it also takes up 50% of my Help Menu real estate , I may of been tempted to buy it until i realised a simple Bell patch took up as much CPU as the biggest patch in spectrasonics Atmosphere (Hollywood strings)

When i registered live 4 , one of the boxes asked if i wanted to be emailed for imformation on news, new products etc , well if Operator is a separate product Ableton should of emailed me about Operator , Not made me install a Demo in order to Fix Bugs.....

Steinberg didn't make me install Demo's of Halion,Hypersonic,Xphrase in order to Fix some Bugs.

ABLETON YOU ARE WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!.Its a shame i only bought live 4 yesterday i feel im starting off on the wrong foot with Ableton.

Ableton is not Steinberg (thank god)
If you don't like the operator, fine. thats your problem.
It's people like you who make sure loyal users have to wait longer for new features. Because now Ableton has to work on a way to remove or hide the operator.

Get over it. you can re-sample patches from the operator and use them in the simpler or impulse. You can make your own costum waveforms.

reading your previous post - it appears that you are in need of some sensibility...

I'm pretty sensible.
But this operator thing is just getting old.
Why can't we just all get along?

set aside the wording of the original posting, there are two problems mentioned:

1) why do I have to download a demo of a product I don't want in order to get the bug fix of the product I paid for?
Don't tell me it is to hard for them to remove the demo of operator. they proved themselve very capable programers, so why should that be a problem or cause any delay??

2) why is operator so cpu extensive?

ok, but one can do this with many plugins, too. and why is a workaround an argument in favour for a cpu-extensive addon? does it mean, that you think that operator is too cpu extensive?? if I have to use simpler in order to live with operator - that doesn't make sense to me.

agee that everyone has to get over it already, it takes up a slot in Lives instrument folder, big deal or maybe its too tempting to use

I can't belive that you use soo much time thinking and bitching about the little icon you see in your inst. list

Go make some music and try to think happy thoughts instead of looking at the operator ..

OOrrr maby you still didn't figure out how to remove the operator tutorial that pops up and bloks half the screen when you boot live 4.1 for the first time... if soo just ask and somebody will answer ;-)

Cheers
