Using MPD32 + APC40 together

Does anyone know the best method for assigning controller data when using the MPD32 and APC40 together so the assignments don't conflict with each other?
I find whenever the MPD32 conflicts with a pre-existing assignment on the APC, the red 5x8 selection bar for the APC in Live's Session view disappears completely...

Is using the preset on the APC and re-assigning all the controls to the MPD32 to CC data the best approach?
Or is there an easier way to do this?

I'd do a Save As and make a new version of your song, then delete all the old MPD32 mappings. Since you have the APC, you wouldn't need the MPD's controllers anymore would you? I found the APC went a little buggy when I had mappings from another controller in the song. It wasn't until I deleted them, then the APC worked smooth.

I'm mostly interested in using them together...
Must be a way to use the APC's out-of-the-box settings, and also use an MPD32 without conflicting.

I figure I could just go one-by-one and re-program the MPD32's MIDI or CC notes.... but I was wondering if there was a faster, not quite as time-consuming way...

i already have a mpd32 and im about to get my apc40,,and this is exactly what i want to do,,to use them both together for live shows,,would like to hear other users experiences with this combo please

I'm guessing that the MPD and APC are on the same midi channel. Try changing the midi channel on the MPD. You will have to remap all of the manual mappings though.
