Hi there I want to sync Ableton via midi to a program called Human Synchroniser by ADIG (I have not yet tested this ADIG prog and not 100% sure it will work). But for arguments sake let's say that the ADIG software does work and I can control time via a live drum kit is there a way Ableton can time warp all my samples that I may have in a song to sync in time. Obviously the midi stuff will move around and stay in time but the audio could be out of time after the point of it's initial trigger if the current bpm doesn't match the original of the sample which let's face it is highly likely in a live situation with live drummer.
Does this make sense and can I achieve this?
Please advise,
Alex.
Time stretch
Re: Time stretch
it's called warping and it's what live does
Re: Time stretch
Ok cool so using the warping function Ableton will automatically squash or expand my audio to suit the incoming bpm from ADIG or an extarnal clock source?
Is this easy to set up? Do you have to log the samples original bpm against it so that Ableton knows what adjustments to make from and to?
Cheers,
Alex.
