Can someone please explain this to me, simple question

I'm about to upgrade to Live 8 so I can use Looper.

The main function I need is to be able to jam a guitar riff and then hit a foot pedal switch and it loops and opens another clip ready to jam and record. This is possible with looper right?

Also, I'm travelling to China soon so any foot pedal I get needs to be small and light if possible.

it wont open a new clip, it will overdub audio on the current clip.
