tape delayz

Post by Smellhound » Thu Jul 30, 2009 3:40 pm

Does anyone know of a tape delay plugin that can self oscillate but not mess with your 'undo'?

I have arcDev's Dubb Box. It sounds amazing and very realistic but the problem is that it produces a continual parameter change (I'm assuming it's the tape warble effect), which floods the undo history and prevents undoing anything else in the project until after the delay has trailed out to silence.

I've heard the one for the UA-1 card is good, but that is an expensive road to travel. If anyone knows of something comparable please let me know....and yes I've tried the free Space Echo emulator. It doesn't sound nearly as good as the Dubb Box (mainly because I don't think it self-oscillates).

hmm...the website says "4ms to 2000ms delay time". I'm assuming that means it can't feedback forever?

think hard and you'll find the flaw in your theory.

hint: an unlimited delay time would mean, well, no repeating delay ever.

pfffff.

no.

actually it stops feedbacking exactly one loop iteration before infinity.
but because of the concept of infinity you will not notice that.

I have Dubstation - it's good value for money, but not in the same league as the UAD-1 plugin, nor the Roland Boss footpedal, and even the one included in Guitar Rig 3 is coolio.
