VERY nice set up! WAY cool! :D

Would be so kind as to explain how you made your monitor stands? I'm gonna be needing to make some real soon for my A7's..

Thanks

It is most likely a different distance of the speakers towards the backwall.
Hard to say, there's so many things that affect the acoustics in a studio. Either way I was hapy with how things sounded before, but now I'm really happy.

That little black shelf is something I made with left over wood from the speaker stands. The laptop stand is something I made as well.

The speaker stands are SOOO easy to make. It's basically a premium quality interior 4x4, capped top and bottom with 1" maple boards. On the top caps, I used a cheapo old school mousepad glued upside down (with the rubber side up) to keep the speakers from sliding/moving. Speaker spikes were added to the bottom. The main thing is to make sure you use really long and large screws when attaching the caps. Then paint as you want. Total cost for the stands was about $20.

The DJ speaker stands I actually built before I even had power tools. Most home improment stores (Home Depot, Lowes, etc) will make basic cuts for you for very cheap if you buy the wood there. So figure out how long you need the 4x4 to put the monitors at ear level, and they'll be happy to cut it for you. For the top caps, they sell MDF shelving that's 12 inches wide, so you just need to figure out how wide each cap should be. I think mine are 12x10 inches if I remember correctly. Then just assemble them at home.

The real modular stuff is MOTM and Oakley. I love the nord modulars though. The G2 is I think my absolute favourite synth. A pity Clavia stopped making/developing them.

Concur, but it'll be a long time before people "outgrow" what's out there now and need a new version or something.
