Re: OT: We The People
the thing that bothers me most about conservatism is that everything in the conservative pallet trumps unity wtf is that?
guns trump unity
the confederate flag trumps unity
the fuckin alamo is more important to you guys than people coming together, the funny thing is that if patriotism is so important you should have no problem with native indians trying to scalp americans today?
too much ted nugent syndrome going on out there.
btw I side with you guys on abortion but then the way you guys go at birth control makes no sense at all.
even though I'm against abortion the solution could never be trumping someones rights to what happens to themself, so you say what about the rights of the child, the fact is that we really don't know the truth about inception but we do know that the rights of an adult female have developed past that.

Re: OT: We The People
I don't think that "bleeding heart liberal" is used pejoratively so much as scornfully. A bleeding heart liberal is one who is misguided, but has good intentions. He advocates the wrong things for the right reasons.starving student wrote:that's alright, look let me put it like this, derogatory names for liberals and conservatives are 'bleeding heart liberals' and 'conservative racist' now I've never called anyone a racist for being a conservative cause it's stupid of course but I know why that term exist and can articulate why it does, can you tell me what is so bad to conservatives about being a 'bleeding heart' ?
Ah, where in the world have there been greater follies than with the
pitiful? And what in the world hath caused more suffering than the
follies of the pitiful?
Woe unto all loving ones who have not an elevation which is above
their pity!
Thus spake the devil unto me, once on a time: "Ever God hath his
hell: it is his love for man."
And lately did I hear him say these words: "God is dead: of his pity
for man hath God died."- ZARATHUSTRA, II., "The Pitiful."

although this is the greatest folly i see in conservatives
They find it ok to spend billions of dollars killing people for defense (offense)
but it is incomprehensible to spend any of that money helping people....
hypocrisy at its ugliest

Re: OT: We The People
That is not hypocrisy. Anyway, history is replete with the lessons of peoples and countries that did not adequately defend themselves. The greatest folly of liberals is "if we show them that we mean them no harm, then they won't hurt us."hurlingdervish wrote:ok nice job there. Nietzsche quotes win.GrooveNinja wrote:

Re: OT: We The People
there are better ways to defend than to intimidate with childish bully tactics....thats the reason countries are even mad at us enough to want to attack

He is dead. It didn't really work for him very well, now, did it?starving student wrote: so then you believe that martin luther king chose the wrong route?
Re: OT: We The People
the current folly of conservatives is that if we bomb them and force democracy on them, they'll welcome us with open arms as liberators.GrooveNinja wrote:The greatest folly of liberals is "if we show them that we mean them no harm, then they won't hurt us."
fail.

You mean the "route" he took into Mrs. King in order to conceive Martin Luther King, Jr.? Yeah that was probably a good idea.starving student wrote:so then you believe that martin luther king chose the wrong route?
