Will do.

I'll take another stab at EQing when I roll home. Whats best format for you? Remember its recorded/mixed in 2 apps and Live isn't either of em

let's give them a working over then. I like polishing other peoples' stuff, I get tired of hearing my own over and over.

mp3 is fine, at least 192.

Signing up with a royalty collector such as BMI, ASCAP, SOCAN (in Canada) etc. is a different situation to copyright - you can register songs with them in order to collect mechanical royalties, etc. and they have some good advice about legal stuff and publishers and copyright but they don't provide copyright for you or intervene in copyright issues.

The problem with ASCAP is in the way they calculate royalties. It is setup to only benefit the biggest artists. Basically they randomly poll 6 hours of any given medium and whoever is getting played during that time gets paid. With BMI and SESAC they they look at cue sheets and find out exactly who is getting played and how much. You stand a much better chance of getting paid with them than with ASCAP.

i've read and heard about this but apparently it wouldn't hold up in court.
