lets destroy the studio

Post by Johnisfaster » Thu Aug 06, 2009 3:13 am

My studio has become a stale environment and I think part of it is the typical studio concept of Desk/computer/monitors in front of you/keyboards close by/ type of approach. So I'm gonna lose the desk and put this shit on the floor on boxes, speakers on the other side of the room. who's with me?

on a related note, I have my fondest memories in life from a time when my mattress was on the floor
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

shit i don't think i could ever put my bed on a frame. also big up on throwing equipment all over the place only to be lost in dirty clothes! should be rewarding to actually hunt for your stuff in real life rather than through virtual folders.

don't forget the AC adapter extension if you are running loads of tracks and plugins and want useable latency, or have non buss powered audio interfaces !!!

Well as far as monitor position/placement and the listening position, I can't change that... My acoustic treatments would not be happy. :P

Someday I'll have a big enough room and I'll just work with a home theater type setup, with a couch in the back 38% position. :D

Same here, there isn't enough height for a bed so I sleep on the floor

HEAR HEAR!!!!

i know it drains to much power with all the disco going on for being bus powered, but why in hell no having the possibility to put batteries in it, for a few hours worth...??? or being able to switch the disco off, for the road?

a-fucking-men

don't get me wrong, i love looking at cool studio pics and there are a few i'd love to take a little tour around/be a fly on the wall inside... but i don't want to pretend like i have one.

my favorite place to mess with music stuff is the kitchen table - easy access to beer.
