solution
UNBELIEVABLE.
I just had the same experience couple days ago.
The solution is, reinstall the osx and apps from the very begining.
And after you check the rewire is activated on both apps,
MAKE A BACKUP OF THE ENTIRE HDD WHICH IS WORKING !
I reinstalled LP7 & Live4 from the scratch and that didin't work.
I deleated all the plists and stuff. no no that didn't work
I phoned apple and all i get is "Who knows about live4"
yeah, I know this sucks.
MAKE A BACKUP.
I accidently erased the whole system and music.
This is how I do it with my EXT HDD.
Partation the thing in four.
First one: Backup for all the audio recordings and projects
Second: Backup of the recent system HD includeing latest apps
Third:Backup for the very first system HD with the prior apps
Forth:Backup for the very first OSX setuped with your use (no apps)
Yeah, I always go the hardway cause I learned eveything in a hardway.
The direction will be,
+first, install osx and custimize it for you use. Back it up to partation 4
+second, install the apps and make sure REWIRE and everythilng are working. This you got to save it for the future use. Back it up to partation 3.
+Third, backup your recent system HD once a week to partation 2.
You don't want to do this so often, cause both my backups couldn't rewire.
I backed up the system that can rewire ! That is the main reason why I backup the Third partation for.
+Forth, backup the projects if you have the room.
Make sure you BACKUP all the templates, samples, music, and data.
I entirely wiped out everything doing the wrong way.
I hope you can learn it from me.
Everything is smooth at the moment.
You never know when you are going to be messed around with the programs.
BTW, you can use the OSX disc1's disk utility to restore you whole data.
It's easy as hell.
For the EXT HDD, I recommend the Logitec FW800 cause it has the FW buses.
It's amazing to know that someone is having the very same problem that I'm having at this very present.
this is one thing I give respect to the internet.
good luck

I fixed it...but it was a very hard way...After trying everything else i considered it as only solution to reinstall everything on a clean partition...
But !!! it still not worked ! I did it again.... and this time I did 2 things different... first I wiped the partition before the initalisation .
and second... I installed Logic before the last OSx upgrade to 10.37 !...
Now it works... I think its more likely that it has to do with the 10.37 update...anything else would say that the wiping did the trick...and this would fear me a bit...

I have no idea. Have you unchechked the launguages for LP7 ??Zakari Luk wrote:is it possible that the new logic 7 update might have been a cause? im curious because i downloaded it but didnt install it yet.
I heard there are certain bugs when you update to 7.0.1 with other launguages unchecked. If you did so, I recommend to go to the APP folder and righ click the LP7 and check all the launguages.
7.0.1 is working fine @ the moment.
Let us hear how it goes.
Good luck
I haven't had any problems with 7.0.1. Once person said they installed the Logic upgrade before updating to 10.3.7 and had problems. i did it the other way around. Maybe that's the trick?Zakari Luk wrote:is it possible that the new logic 7 update might have been a cause? im curious because i downloaded it but didnt install it yet.
Its very difficult to tell whats going on in the moment...
its working now but the mididrivers cause strange problems.. I even had a kernel panic..not very trusty.. i ve to go in production again tomorow...
i hope i dont have to suffer again...
Even when it dont helps much... the problems apple has themself with audio/midi on a mac lets look Ableton much better for me now... Logic is however a very good value for the money..this spacedesigner reverb is very good...and more resource friendly than i would have expected such an good alternativ to a hardware reverb... best reverb plug i had sofar...
I think i will install Logic 6 ... I however have the impression that the logic 7 installer screws up the system ...
maybe its necessary to install on an external drive and place the important componants by hand into a clean 10.37 installation...
