I blame computers, tape, speakers, etc... all audio recording/production/reproduction tools. Nuff said.

Music shouldn't exist. One less thing for people to complain about.

I'll put Beat Repeat on a track, tweak with it and go 'no, not that sound...' and delete it.

the Abes should overhaul it, maybe a dBlue Glitch type of device, the Mac kids can finally join that fun. it would give people a pseudo-turntable effect too.

I hardly ever use it but i was trying out the live effects on an external instrument track the other day so i dropped a beat repeat on it and it worked really well. So much so that i created a rack for future use. It was on synth and drums and iirc it was in insert mode. It had more of a musical effect on the incoming audio and added some nice movement to the sound. Just cause it's called beat repeat doesn't mean ya have to use only on drums. Go wild!

I agree about an overhaul though. Max4Live anyone? :D

the mac kinds can use effectrix as a dblue glitch alternative. I tried it out when it was released. Not bad, but I prefer to take care of my edits manually. Never could get it to fit into my workflow

Would be cool to see BR get an overhaul though.

you dont need dBlue Glitch when you have Audio Effect Rack and an automated chain selector

meh!
It was a problem the day effects turned into a style.

I don't get it, what happened to letting the original songs speak for themselves. I guess people get caught up thinking if they aren't moving a fader or tweaking a knob, they aren't DJing.

One of my favourite parts of a set is when I get things gelling nicely, stand back for a few seconds and actually take in what I've created. If it can't sound good without you touching anything for 20 seconds, maybe it just doesn't sound that good...
