I live in Las Vegas, NV. I like the weather here which is very dry, about 3 inches of rain a year and summer time temps at 100F and above. Compared to New York City, where I'm from, high humidity, rain and cold snowy winters. I like how once you leave the Vegas area, you're in a vast desert. I like driving around in my car instead of having to take the bus and train everywhere..

I live in Amsterdam and I don't smoke dope because it doesn't work on me...
For the rest it is a too expensive city in my taste but I have to stay another one and a half or two years before I can leave.
There is too much wind here and rain and the food is bad and most dutch people are flat as their country.
The ones that are not, are very cool and mostly leave until they are in their forties then they come back and make children.

I live in San Jose and the coolest thing about living in San Jose is it's centrally located a relatively short distance from places that are cooler. If I want to check out some cool shows, art, and culture, and spend a week's pay on gas looking for parking it's a short drive to SF. If I want to buy drugs, gang bang, or pursue my rap career it's a short drive to Oakland. If I want to rally against every technological breakthrough mankind has ever made or protest every decision ever made by world governments it's a short drive to Berkeley. If I want to surf, skate, or disregard basic human hygiene it's a short drive to Santa Cruz. If I want to masturbate in Steve Jobs' office it's practically walking distance.

seriously though... picturesque town, staycations are amazing, it's great living in a town that gets a large part of its revenue from tourism. if we want to get away on a vacation there's TONS of amazing things within a day's drive.
- Sierra Mountains
- So Cal deserts
- No Cal redwood forests and amazing coastlines
- So Cal beaches
- gambling in Nevada
- small hick towns, large cities
- wine tasting is all over the state, not to mention GREAT food

all the bands come through here and if you look there's always something going on.

it's a 15 minute bike ride to Marin with all their biking on and off road. we can walk to all parts of town or hop on a bus or take a cab. I rarely drive anymore, recently just to get my bike wheel fixed.

I live in Wellington, New Zealand.

The good:
Great electronic music scene (mostly Drum and Bass, Dubstep, House, no real Techno. No real Techno scene in NZ really...). Great general music scene (dub/soul/funk/jazz in particular). Lots of arty stuff. Home of Peter Jackson and Weta studios. Big enough to have a proper 'city vibe', small enough to bump into people you know all the time.

The bad:
Weather is pretty average. Wind aplenty. If a music scene is small it is SMALL, everyones down the road at the Drum and Bass gig. Almost all places to live are up pretty brutal hills. 90% of the major band stadium gigs only happen in Auckland when they tour which is approx 1000km away.

I've lived in a few cities but Wellies is my favourite.

Close to Louisiana gambling
Back bay fishing
Shiner bock

Cons:
Extremely hot and humid summers and mild winters
You have to run the AC year round
Churches on every corner
You have to drive everywhere you need to go for the most part
Lot's of tours tend to skip Houston
Hurricanes
%8.25 taxes contrary to popular belief
The beer isn't free but I rarely drink so that's OK
Strippers may occasionally be missing a limb or two
