Recording Massive filter manipulation into a clip envelope?

i've got a problem i believe is related to this - i've got an axiom 25 and i just learned the top knobs to the massive macros by cicking midi learn and spinning the wheel

it controls massive perfectly but does not record automation in ableton - it brings up the correct line but then doesnt work

Is the knob mapped to anything in Ableton? If so, delete the mapping. This won't work if the CC# is mapped to anything in Ableton.

The session view recording show up as the macro knob in the parameter list in Ableton. It will show up under the MIDI control number (0-127).

hmm.. I'm having this problem, but with clip envelopes in general. I'm unable to use clip envelopes at all now..

Live should certainly be able to record automation data to clips. It doesn't make sense not to...

It's the #1 issue for many people here. Abe developers addressed the issue in a thread a while back explaining why it hasn't happened yet. It has to do with the relationship between session view and arrange view and gets into the fundamental coding and design of live....meaning it will basically take a re-write from the ground up to accomplish this....unless anybody has any great ideas no one else has thought of yet.
