Pure Reason Revolution

Post by Ed J » Thu Aug 13, 2009 2:39 pm

Anyone else heard of these folks?

A friend of mine from uni gave me their second album, and it's honestly very good, kind of like a mars-volta-meets-porcupine-tree-meets-queens-of-the-stone-age-style-chugga-chugga-guitars, but with violins and stuff. They're clearly all very compentent musicians.

Wierd, but probably the most individual sound I've heard off a new band in years.

'Discuss' :D
Some stuff, and some other stuff. Honest.

Aye, they're ace. Porcupine Tree are also ACE. As is Steven Wilson on his own (insurgentes is a 'must have' album).

Have you heard of Oceansize?

Hey guys,

I opened for them with my band last year (I think it was October)
They are great guys (and a gal) and they have a very good live show, and sound...
They have very cool gear onstage (virusses, some harddisk recorders)
Before they went on to play their show, they were backstage bouncing some extra sounds from Logic into the harddisk recorder that they were using... I like that because it meens that they don't are chained to one set all the time.

I didn't see them using Live though... we do :D
If you have the chance to see them live, I sugest you do so

We also played with Oceansize, also a very good band, check 'em out!
If you're curious for what type of music I do, just check out my myspace link in my signature

cheers,
