Maschine has the coolest looking orange LED's, am I right or am I right? Very warm color, me thinks.

Very warm. It's because of the contrast to the blue ones, methinks...

Hey there, listened to your sit back track, and there is a big glitch at 1:27 with the appreg synth (the drums continue normally)... was that intentional?

It was kinda intentional.. It was a beat repeat that didn't quite go over as planned I think it got latched on and I didn't hit it fast enough to get rid of it. Either that or it was from my drummers beat repeat that he can control with the rim shot triggers on the SPD-s.

It'll do though, our recording setup is stereo channel for drums, stereo channel for any of the loops/samples/bass I am doing, and then last 2 mono channels for hand drums and the Roland SPD-s so when we get down to "mastering" there's only so much I can do to edit things. It's all done "live" btw..

Ahh... that explains it. I guess its a good sign that I noticed, because that means I was really listening! Keep up the good work.

Thanks, I appreciate it.. We're tryin' to play shows ASAP but it's difficult cause I don't think my system is stable until I upgrade to this MacBook I am looking at, trying to pay for it with financial aids and grants 8)
I am a graphic design student so it's totally legit, come on school pay for my new MacBook (Pro).

You got some tunes I can check out?

Hi listened to you tunes.. Liked the vibe.. But feel that your sound is letting you down.. It sounds too thin and lacking in punch and dynamics.. It is no easy thing recording 'live' the whole recording chain needs to support quality from start to finish. As well as the guys who are using it need to know how.. But yeah as I said I like the vibe you guys are shooting for.. Gear and knowhow can be bought and learned!

The 'it'll do though' statement is what will ultimately set your level.. With all the gear in the world that sentiment will stop your development very effectively !!

Best

...We usually set up our shit, smoke a bowl, and then get on a jam.. That was just a chilled jam after puttin' some aroma in the air. I don't think I really checked on levels or did any soundcheck jams before hand. Now if you meant the actual playing sounded thin and lacking in punch then I don't know what to tell you. I usually have my drummer play softer for recordings because he tends to get out of hand at intense parts but for this song it didn't really apply.

So ya, it'll do. I don't think you interpreted that the right way.

I don't think my statement 'it'll do though' will stop any kind of development.
