i think he copies someone else, though not litterally ofcourse. i am sure there are going echo's around between what someone is doing and what the person is listening/hearing around. Do you really think that what he does just drops out of the air?

well if it sounds wider, try adding a stereo widening effect after the delay. if it sounds warmer, try EQing the delay too. you can always "effect" the effect to make it sound a bit different.

put your ping pong delay on a send and cut the bass out when you apply the effect
or put a filter before your delay

This is by far the best answer in this threat (exept the guys who explained what they do)

It is not a shame to copy and to see how it works and than if you have the basics to bring it to another level...A lot of very successful people did that.

And a lot of people who things that they are sooo individual should buy themselves a new pair of ears.
