If you map a device on/off to a macro control then I think it would be really handy for the APC light to only be able to go from far right to far left without any inbetween like a switch. That way you'd have instant visual feedback as to what state the control is in. If you implemented this then you could also do it for things like macro controlled chain selecter that only has say 0-4 as its range.
