I read it last night, very interesting. Plus I never made the effort to figure out the difference between moderism and post modern before. The idea of modernism, post modernism and meta modernism (yeah I typed it lol) running concurrently in culture gives me hope.

I really like the idea of participatory culture. My band has done some work with bringing audience members up on stage so they can make sounds and we sample them and work it into the groove right there on the spot. People love it. Hambone was doing some amazing stuff in this regard as well. Guitar Hero/Rock Band is another manifestation. The album is dead, everyone's making their own albums now and calling them playlists. The average person now can have a device that auto-DJs for them.

With M4L a person could build an extensive audience participation set, especially using iCubeX controllers and the like. If the idea of participation could take hold and inspire people to participate in the world around them, that would be ideal. Of course, it could also turn people off from participating in anything that's not entertainment...

That sounds great as long as theres room for specialists in the arts which I presume their will be. Everyone has digital cameras but you wouldn't rely on an ethusiastic amatuer for you wedding shots. Maybe I'm getting 'Groovebox Panic' remember when the Roland MC303 came out people thought we'd be swamped by crap music and....hang on. :x
