...then theres
how many copies of LE that or lite this that have been givin away with everything from mixers to mics to blow up dolls???
+Rza said Pro-Tools in a few Wu-Tang tracks in the late 90s... sent a bunch of aspiring youth scrambling to Guitar Center.

that's my point... Live lite has been given out with basically everything piece of gear from every company in recent years, it seems. not the same with cubase, or sonar. reason adapted has also been given out freely. i think they need to question the companies on actual registered users. i'm willing to bet that Live has a lot more users than most, if not all the programs on that list. but, then again, maybe i'm giving too much credit to my app of choice here!?!
can anyone at Ableton tell us how many registered users Live has? Whether it be Suite, Full, LE, or Lite.

^ I've seen more bundled copies of Cubase LE than anything in my limited experience. I mean in real life not interwebz.
It would be cool if the Abes would tell us...

i use ableton my self but ppl i know use pro tools and they sat good things about it - mind i say good things about ableton. its all much of a muchness. ppl are too anel about which DAW they use its all personnel choice you can record in all the DAW's with pretty much the same results (sound quality wise) so what does it matter - i am happy ableton came 7th i'm not a sheep either, but when i put new people on to bbleton the all tell me the same thing - how they thought it was a bit of a toy and it suprises them when the use it that it does everything well and with ease.
I personally prefer ableton. i have used cubase, logic, PT (abit) ond cakewalk - i just prefer ableton they all did the same job.

"The Top 10 Music Applications
Q2, 2009, based on search requests"
That actually doesn't mean much really. So Pro Tools is the number 1 by search requests... what does that mean? Its the hardest to use? Its the most talked about? The most googled? Its the most broken? The one most likely to confuse the shit out of you and make you look for an answer on the web?
I use Cubase SX3 and can tell you that its been... difficult... to get a log in to Steinberg's site. So any time I need help where do I go. Yup google. So I helped make Cubase number 2!!
I stand by my earlier assessment. 7 is a good number.

Hell yeah!
I got my first version of Live LE with a blow up doll I bought over the interweb, and after it wore out, I got bored and fired up Live and thought, this
is better than sex!
( with a blow up doll, anyway )
