doc, thanks for putting this together and helping us kooks out with the set up. Thanks to everyone who has helped with bringing the unknowing up to speed.
The included instructions have got my padkontrol working with farmpad, configuring the IAC, setting up midi prefs... all good there.
Upon loading the example set farmShareSeq4bars.als I get a message that the audio samples cannot be found (I started Live from clicking the .als file within the farmPadStepSeq directory, maybe thats why?). I mapped the samples that could not be found (all of em) to other samples live had.
I moved the midi notes in the clips so that they falls on the kick drum.
I have been pushing many many buttons, and it seems I can get the kick drum to go, though I dont know how... and Im kinda lost on how to get other sounds going.
@RavenMoon - how did you get it to have more sounds? Why did you need to redownload and re load?
Iv been trying to go off of the post that stated:
... i use velocity to make the notes increment through the steps.
the vertical row with some on and some off is the row you assign the pads to.
make the eight rows all hit the kick drum in impulse, then add a pitch plug to seven of the tracks to increment up to the other sample cells.
once you get the kick hitting, make a preset of the rack and load it into the others.
This is my first foray into step sequencer fun... and consequently have many questions about how to get this wizardry happening. Could anyone elaborate a bit on the steps mentioned above? What exactly are 'follow actions?' Can you clarify what you mean by 'vertical row'?
For the 'select bar to edit' buttons, I can hold one down and select up to 16 for each. I can make all the buttons light on or off. So then each scene is a 16th note in time? What do the rows/columns on the padkontrol represent?
Here is what Live looks like for me, in case someone can see something off...
Can anyone recommend some good resources for learning more? Youtube has been pretty meager, besides showing what I would like to be able to do with little explanation...
Thanks for a great mod and thanks for all the help
