I did more or less the same thing with Battery 3, ripped the samples for my own use outside of the software. NI includes a handy function to backup the Battery kit and all included samples, so I just loaded up each kit and hit that button, presto all the samples are nicely stripped out of the encrypted library file. I didn't share them though (even with other Battery users), that's what I think most people are razzing you about.

If you can afford a lawyer to answer those questions, can't you afford some newb to do this for you?

Yes I can, but I'm becoming more of an audio perfectionist and didn't want to leave the job to a newb. It was over in a day's work though. Thanks to Apple's Automator application. Was a weird process, but totally saved me time. After I got stems of all the hits, I just used Logic's strip silence feature. Then imported the slices into Live. Good Stuff!

Sorry that I can't share guys

"my lawyer"

A resent study, completed by top researchers at, John Hopkin's Institute for Social Sciences, has concluded the phrase, "my lawyer," actually means, "My McDonald's Cashier," 99.3% of the time.
