when i rewire Ableton in PT, all my VST plug-ins in Ableton Live do not work. any ideas how to make these VSTs work with ProTools.
(aka pluggo plug-ins).
i assume it's the evil RTAS bearing it's greedy head..
many thanks

VSts in Ableton will not work while Pro Tools is acting as the rewire master.
But, if needed...there is an rtast shell for vsts...but you still cannot access vsts in Ableton...they only work in Pro Tools during the rewire.
It sucks...Im guessing it is Digidesign bearing its greedy head.

With the RTAS shell, any vst will now work in Pro Tools. I shouldnt say "any" since there were a few bugs with specific plugins.
This does not mean that you can run Live as a rewire slave to Pro Tools and have your VSTs in Live work. All this will do is allow VSTs to plug into Pro Tools just like an RTAS would.
Heres the place to get more info or buy it:
http://www.fxpansion.com/
Ive had it for about 9 months or so...it works damn nice.

As much as I dislike Digidesign, I have to be fair and point out that Live cannot use VST plugins while in Rewire Slave mode. This is regardless of the program being used as the Rewire Master. In other words, the same thing would happen if you were using Cubase, Nuendo, Fruity Loops, Orion, etc.

Ah...well it seems to be only the doing of Ableton.
Why the dislike of digidesign? I love them...especially for charging $80(?)
for an upgrade to 6.7. 6.4 works just fine for me...
