8 Slots for adding wav-files seems like a bad joke.
To edit a professional drumset you need at least:
1- bassdrum
2-3 snare + rimshot
4-7 toms
8-10 cymbals
11 ride
12 bell
13 china
14-15 hi-hat closed&open
16 shaker
... maybe more !
Ableton is a great software but this point is really very weak and disappointing to me.

Simpler has only one slot. You must mean Impulse.
Is there anything in particular stopping you from using several Impulses?

oops - of course i meant impulse
using several impulse seems really uncomfortably to me.
That would mean
1st impulse basic rhythm (bass drum, snare, hi-hat)
2nd impulse cymbals
3rd impulse toms
Anyone could imagine how difficulty it would be to work this way.
