automating in ableton

Post by mistayif » Tue Aug 25, 2009 11:59 pm

say you want to automate a parameter in ableton ie. the osc b on/off button for the operator synth, you would just draw it in its automation lane.

however, if i would then manually click the osc b on/off switch, the osc b on/off automation will be greyed out and on playback, ableton will no longer follow the pre-drawn automation pattern.

can anyone tell me how to un-grey the automation lane so that ableton will follow the automation on playback (apart from undo), i've tried everything but can't seem to find a way to do it

hit the red 'back to arrangement' button at the top of the GUI.
