Gates

Hi,

I'm sampling individual drum hits from records and experiencing quite a bit of floor noise (think that's what it's called!).

I've heard that gates can be used to help get rid of it but are there any other tips people have got?

Gates can be used to remove noise during silences. If you want to remove some noise during the actual sound, I can think of :
- EQ
- Using an external sample editor (I think audacity & wavosaur have it and they're both free)
