not its users, it's the people on their forums.

Hey, I'm fucked-in-the-head but I don't have to be a forumfuck to make myself feel better about it.

I wasn't bashing you on that earlier post Tone, in fact I was kinda thanking you for not bein' a fucker like some poeple.

lol
Tone Deft wrote:you think I'm 'jon doe by choice'?? that's retarded, I post so much as me how could I post as two people? we don't even sound the same.

omfg it's a conspiracy!! someone call Alex Jones!!
more lol @ "call alex jones"

I just popped into this thread because I do care about stability, and once in a while people here make valid statements about it, one way or the other.

As for being Tone Deft, I would gladly support Dom's final word on the matter (although it's not really worth his time), if he so chooses to give it publicly, but personally, I'm denying being Tone Deft.

Also, kittenrider, he and I have both agreed and disagreed here, and we've misunderstood each other as often as not (him taking my comments out of context without reading everything I've said, and me not totally understanding some his technical expertise at times). If you care that much, stalk a little more, you'll see the folly in your ways.

no worries, I was on a tear for a while, even earned a fan along the way!

work man, that's why they have to pay us to show up. I'm going to go get drunk on sake and sushi then hit the gun store and write my coworkers' names on bullets. or just get more sake. time will tell, keep an eye on the SF newspapers.

edit...

I missed that! OK, if I'm john doe then you're Alex Jones and this forum is going into the Sears Tower mofo.

JIIIIIHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOWOOOOOOWOOOOOOWOOOOOOWOOOOOOWOOOOOOWOOOOOO

some days the hate you lot bring is the only thing that gets me out of bed in the morning. "OK what the fuck is going on now? "

I thought kittenhumper was mortalicious, he says he's not, doesn't matter in the end now, does it?

I love you Tone.

You are one of the more "sensible" guys on the forum.

You really shouldn't let these "alter asswipes" get you down.

If I was in your vicinity right now I'd pop round with a bottle of gin and my "pump" and then
we could go party! Yay!

So I guess I'll buy the Ableton Live 8 education option.. I don't need any instruments, presets or anything for it so it should only cost me about $250.. Should I get that before or after my school pays for most of my new MacBook Pro?

My PC laptop is dying slowly, no more headphone jacks(2), get blue screen of death all the time and I've always had this problem with this peice of shit Dell, and my screen is so loose it's gone and fucked up all the plastic parts by the hinge.

I don't really want to invest in expensive software that will be worth more than my laptop is worth right now.

FAFSA checks/loans where you at!?!?

I am a graphic designer so I figured it'd be legit to buy a MacBook using Pell Grant/Stafford Loans, anyone else go down this road before? it's been a few weeks of my school "processing" forms and such.

(don't flame me or I'll blow your house up)

I'm still down for smokin' bongs?

Ya it's fucked up because the reason I get so much money from the Gov't/School is because my father has been unemployed for a while and my mom is struggling.. SO it's not like I'm rich suburban american and I get shit handed to me on a silver platter.. but it is gonna be pretty sweet (even though $850 of the cash is a loan I have to pay back once I graduate).

When I was learning Ableton I used to get blazed out and watch tutorials and fuck around with the trippy shit I could make it do, now I just can't get enough.

Software is def not paid for that's why I'm pickin' up extra hours to get Live 8 and Adobe CS4.

squidgee- I agree with what your saying. I wonder if Gerhard Behles would agree with Dom's response.

thanks tone for understanding what i meant by midi loop

it was a midi feedback loop, and any program that you can create that one in it will pretty much crash

yes, abelton live has bugs, yes, it can crash when you do certain things

BUT

every time it crashed for me it was one of 2 reasons

1. user error

2. there was a legitimate problem with the program that i could reproduce (and not once was it an action that i would try to do live)

its not like ableton has ever crashed on me randomly, every crash has been directly routed back to an issue from my side or its side

i consider that to be stable

everyone talks about how bad it is that there have been so many updates since the release,

but you have expanded the user base drastically from the beta to the release that bugs are going to show up much quicker, if we were still in the beta phases the program would be somewhere around the 8.0.2 version, but more people were using so they got more reports in rapidly and were able to solve problems

people trash answers like "well try the demo and see how it works on your system"

but how many times have you disagreed with some one (especially some one you dont know well) about the quality of a film

ableton cant program for every setup imaginable there are some outliers who the program will not work well with, but test it, put it through every situation you can think of, put it through the ringers, then you will know for yourself

also, sampler is worth the money, everything else you can pretty much find an equivalent vst

that's what I call good advice..

My impression was that it would crash randomly, people say that ALL THE TIME.. but you are probably right.

I'll bet some of them are getting crashes on a cracked version and still want to come here for help thinking it's the program.
