Hello,RDP wrote:I have a problem:
Open new set, drop some devices/instruments in use the Device navigation cursor keys to move between devices and control them, all is fine.
Open a saved set, moving between devices works HOWEVER, I still only control (and see feedback) for the first device in the track.
Any ideas?

I have the exact same problem - so deleted all previous MIDI automation that were on the set and it didn't fix the bug. Did you manage to fix it yourself? Thanks

bagginz wrote:Sooo, any plans to make the footswitch sockets 3 way programmable ( toggle on/toggle off/increment) like the Behringer BCR2000? (which also automatically recognizes the switch polarity and adjusts accordingly, unlike the APC40.
Would be very useful if we could configure the footswitches.

Also, I can crash my APC40 very easily.
I just turn on the Map Mode button on and off in a rack and assign a Device Control encoder (Live 8.04 and 8.03) and move the knob while switching the button off while Live is playing audio. Crashes the APC40 every time, and no bringing it back except by rebooting Live. Not good for Live performances as I sometimes assign midi controllers on the fly
In Live's MIDI Config page I have the APC40 selected as the only control surface, and inputs and outputs both set to "USB device" and just the remote in and remote out radio buttons selected for the APC40. (both set to MME because DirectMusic causes glitches in audio when turning MIDI config on and off when playing back - at low cpu loads)
Question: is this config somehow at fault?
I did try to find some guidance on the matter, but detailed information on this subject is sorely lacking in both the instruction manual (actually, leaflet) and Live's PDF manual.
Is it just my unit, or is anyone else having the same problem?
Is anyone willing to test this by using Map Mode to assign say Live's Pan Delay plugin parameters in a rack and using the Device control knobs on the APC while playing back audio?
Cheers,
bagginz

Crash? because i have other problemm
I just map Knobs from track control. So pan working in normal mode then SEND A section i have mapped to some vsts... and after some playing Device Control section dont respond.

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
^ yeah, makes sense. I wonder if there is a Max patch that can be written such that if you held the pad down for a certain length of time, that could translate to a particular velocity. I dunno, if that's viable or even a practical workaround, but just a thought.
automatic mapping for Live's internal FX and instruments
I eventually went through all 54 pages, bought my own APC and I'm very happy with it (just arrived few days ago).
Somebody already asked this here - but it wasn't answered:
Ho to see which parameters of Live's own FX and instruments are mapped automatically to the lower 8 knobs?! Is this only possible by tweaking them and hava good look at the screen to see which paramter is following?!
Is there a (hidden) configure option like for external VSTs?? I know, that I can MIDI-map everything to everything. But then I'll loose the (auto-) flexibility of those 8 knobs and their pages when selecting tracks.
Any help?
Thanks,
brookdale

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
AFAIK there is no official documentation about the parameter-assignment. But I'm often using an audio effect rack to map 8 important parameters of an effect to my APC. By doing this you can also have a quite good relationshp between the APC and the effect because the 8 effect rack buttons are aligned like the parameter buttons of the APC.

I'm sure you all should wait for max for live...

@Yeti
Strange that you can't have an overview of what paramters are automatically mapped to the internal FXs and instruments of Live!
Thanks for the answer. That's what I considered to do - but then I'll lose the ability of mapping more than 8 paramters by selecting the different pages on the APC?!But I'm often using an audio effect rack to map 8 important parameters of an effect to my APC. if you really want all the features that fit with your need, I suggest you to build your controller.brookdale wrote:@Yeti

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
hi
I have just bought a APC and there are some things I can't find
I don't know if it is possible but It should be really great!
1) how to delete a clip with APC ?
2) how to open a group track with APC (to show the tracks of the group) ?
3) how to open the plugin window with APC (for a VSTi for example) ?
4) and finally, I think that the behaviour of the "auto track number" (when you put a # first on the track name) is not ok when using group tracks and particularly with APC.
Example :

there is 2 tracks in the group track
the number # of track 2 should be 2 and the number of track 3 should be 3 if the group track 1 is closed
(for matching with the APC faders)

and when the group track 1 is opened, the number # should be updated like here with the correct number
Mr Ableton thanks in advance for these very important requests I think!

Hey friends. I have an insatiable gear lust for the APC40.
Does anyone know if it works with Live 6?
Or am I gonna have to go broke and get Live 8 and the APC?

No, it works (in its intended way) only with 7 or 8!Hey friends. I have an insatiable gear lust for the APC40.

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
as you wrote, I'm sure we could make it works with 6 by using python API &/|| max for live etc etc.brookdale wrote:No, it works (in its intended way) only with 7 or 8!Hey friends. I have an insatiable gear lust for the APC40.

but I'm really convinced that people with live 6 should upgrade to 8 imho. but I'm out of topic by saying that
