Helpful advice appreciated---5400 to 7200 RPM HD

I'm looking to change out the HD in one of my earlier model Intel MacBooks. It was stock w/ a 5200 RPM HD but I'd really love to put a 7200 in it. Anyone have their 2 cents on this? Would there be any possible complications I should consider or am I just acting paranoid & should just get on with it? The MacBook is 2GB RAM/2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo if that makes any difference. Any advice would be considerably helpful---Thanks!

You can buy a Seagate Momentus 500 gig drive for $129. Some of these drives (e.g.-Hitachi Travelstar) include the cloning utility and enclosure in the box and it's a breeze to swap them.

Thanks for the response, however the issue I'm concerned w/ is the change of RPM speed. Should switching to a 7400 RPM HD be any threat to my computer that was running a 5200 from the factory? I've heard how easy they are to replace in the MacBook's too, which is very useful

I just replaced my old 5400 rpm with 7200 one... onmacbookpro 2.33.. it works well.. but, it's a little noisy.. (maybe 20% more...)

You'll have no problems whatsoever. The drive falls within the same range for power requirements, so won't cause a problem with the MacBook system architecture, and there are no issues either hardware-wise or software-wise with bumping up to the faster RPM drive.
