Another YES For Midi

Post by guest » Fri Jan 03, 2003 8:28 pm

I know some of the performance-oriented Live users feel MIDI recording doesn't belong in the app, but as a composition-studio-oriented-guy, I'd like to say I'll lay down my money (and throw out my current audio-app) the day Ableton ever adds this. Maybe MIDI functionality could be 'hidden' in some way for those who don't need it, and don't want it cluttering up Live's brilliant UI. But I'd be happy even just to get sequencing features on par with Reason's. In fact, I guess that's my true wish: not to turn Live into another bloated copy of the other available apps, but for Ableton to do for sequencing what they've done for the manipulation of audio...make it that easy and intuitive. Not all of us need or desire heavy stuff that Logic and the others provide. Peace to all, and make some great noise!

I just want to play a midi file in a slot like an audio clip..thats all...
just to trigger my external synth without the hassle of syncing cause Ableton is NOT capable of propper midi sync @ this time.
