pc to mac set compatibility

Post by andy c » Sat Aug 29, 2009 9:18 am

Bare with me as this might seem a basic question but will ableton sets created on a windows pc be able to load and play properly on a mac? It will have the same version on Live 8 and the same 3rd party plug-ins, I have only been buying software that can run on both systems for a while. I just need to be 100% sure before I go and splash out on a mac.

Many thanks

As long as you are only using VST (not AU on the Mac side) you should be fine. We repeatedly switched platforms without problems with Live 7, should work the same with 8.
I object to how easy this forum can be used with fake accounts and question the continuous banishment of one specific user while allowing others to repeatedly publish insults, adult content, anti-women and anti-homosexual propaganda and racist statements.

Thanks for getting back to me. That's kinda what I had hoped to hear I only use VST's. I wanted to be sure cause it would have been a major DOH! moment it I could not load any work up. i am going to be running on both pc and mac for a while best(or worse) of both worlds.

I had to switch the VSTs to their Audio Unit counterparts for my set to work. But after that it ran fine. VSTs in question were:
Zebra2, Kore Player, GSI VB3, Kontakt 2, Guitar Rig, TruePianos.
