Live 8.4 'Back to Arrangement' button constantly on...

I can't get the 'back to arrangement' view button to switch off, it is constantly on and coloured red. If I click it, it will flash for a fraction of a second before going back on. It has happened twice now causing the project not to play certain clips.

Any ideas?

I figured out what the problem was. I went through all the synths in the project and an instance of Genesis CM was going crazy switching on a LFO parameter automatically even when the project wasn't playing. I had to remove the synth and it has fixed the problem.

It's a shame because I really like this synth and I've noticed Live crashing a lot since I've been using it.

Ok I've found the underlying cause of this problem.

I had to add:

-NoVstGesturesRequired

To my options.txt file in version 8 due to Image Line's Sytrus not working when trying to automate its controls. I've removed this line from options.txt and all is now working fine and so is Sytrus's automation. Ableton must have included a fix for this problem in the updates since version 8.

Hello, can you please explain? I am having the same problem, but it's not a synth as this happens with a new (empty) project file.

I can't understand from your post if I'm supposed to add or remove an entry.

I am using OSX and can't find the file.

Sorry and I'm using 7.0.16.

I'm guessing you can't help as you were having problems with vsts but mine doesn't seem to be that. Anyone else?

I'm using the PC version, version 8.04.

I'm still getting the problem and it seems to be linked to the Genesis CM synth. But now the back to arrangement view light still stays on but it doesn't affect the operation, it still plays the arrangement view but the light stays on.

I don't know whether it's related but I am also getting a lot of crashes when I either close Live or when I open a new project.

I don't know what the solution is, it could be problems with certain third party synths/plugins or it could be a bug in Live.

It's not a major problem for me at the moment but it would be nice to have it fixed.

Mine isn't vsti related. Whenever I'm in session view the button is red. I have done a lot of reading and am beginning to think I'm going crazy. Am I right in now thinking the red light should always be on when playing back from session view?

I'm new to mac and always play live from session view but don't remember this red light constantly coming on in the pc (same) version .

When you're playing in the session view the red light should be on. When you switch to the arrangement view if the red light is on you need to click it so that the arrangement view plays instead of the session, the light should go out at this stage.

The problem I have is that the light stays on whether I click it or not but the functionality still works.
