Change bpm w/o affecting recorded material?

I use Ableton to record my band sometimes. When recording drums, we usually record to a click. However, after several passes, sometimes the drummer will ask I can double the speed of the metronome, or cut it in half. I can do both, easily, however, all of the other tracks in the arrangement will be affected.

Is there any way to just make the metronome increase by 2x or .5x? Or do so without affecting any recorded material?

Providing all your clips are at the right tempo of the track, then you could also turn off warping, so that if you doubled the tempo, all other clips will still play at their original speed.

Idea:
It sort of sucks, but use an audio clip as your metronome. Then x2 and /2 is easy as pie. =)
