Live and Virtual Guitarist

Post by braj » Thu Feb 10, 2005 12:40 am

I just got Virtual Guitarist and it's cool and all using it as a plug-in to play pre-recorded rhythm parts, but I found another way to use it to construct interesting guitar parts - just use the wav files in Live4. This may not be news to many, but I'm happy that I'll be able to use it without the CPU hit of the plug-in, and the wav files are all conveniently named with their respective keys. I have the Win version of the plug but now I can use the waves on my old Powerbook too. Pretty cool IMO.

Are you using virtual guitarist as a plugin for Live?? Or are you just exporting .wavs to loop IN live?

I have the plugin, and am using it in Windows, but during the install I saw that the sound files were just basic wav files, so I located them and dragged some into Live, and it worked well. I also only have the Win version and couldn't use it on my Mac otherwise, so it gives me the option. I'll still use it as a plugin, but I just wanted to share that you can use it as wav clips if you like.

Wow! I thought that it was just a randomizer that used an algorithm that stuck to the scale you were using. I've always thought that Reason's Matrix should be equipped with something like that.
