Unwanted Delay on Return Channel

I'm sure this has been discussed before but couldn't easily find an explanation in the archives.

I recently decided to use my Reverb (EasyVerb) as an insert effect rather than in the customary return fashion. (Live v6)

The serial version sounds lovely and just the way i'd expect it, however using the reverb through the return introduces a delay that's not in the serial version. I experimented with different dry/wet levels on the 'return' verb, using PRE/POST and of course varying the send level. None of this helped me get rid of the annoying delay though...

I even tried a couple of other verbs as well...

Can someone explain what's going on?

if I understand you correctly...

reverb is a delay effect, so it doesn't produce an output until a short time after the input.

OR this is a plug in delay compensation (PDC) thing, which can be fixed by turning on PDC in the preferences. check the manual or the help box for more info.

how long is this delay? like tapping quickly on a table quick or more like a half a second?

Yeah. The reverb, when used as a return effect doesn't produce sound immediately. There's a short delay. As an insert, no problems though.

Had forgotten about the PDC option..Thanks.

The delay is quite short as per your example (tapping on a table quickly). possibly 50-100ms.
