Re: Ableton Live Beat Battle #1 Official Thread
since zzzz has blantantly told me his plan to make the poll offset
i will not make a poll lol (easy as that)
just after i post the tracks, respond with the number corresponding to the track that tickled you most

really shouldn't let that guy bully us out of doing the poll, which is the easiest way to go. MAybe start a new thread with the poll and have everyone make a post with an x to indicate they voted in the poll. As long as the number of replies matches the number of votes everything is cool.
of course i vote for myself. Why wouldn't i?

With the rules that we have, maybe we can call it the Dogme 9 challenge...?
I did find myself consciously having to hold back on using Operator and effect plug-ins - was a fun challenge.

We could also call it the "look what we can do with just 1 sample and tools built into Live, stop downloading thousands of plugins and make some music" challenge
seriously though, this was really fun. Did many people send tracks?

I think 7 entries in 7 days for a "just for fun" challenge is about par for the course here. Actually, it's better than I got for the Michael Jackson remix challenge - 14 entries over a period of about a month. Plus I did download the sample about 4 times as I kept accidentally erasing ithurlingdervish wrote:some 100 people downloaded the sample and i only got 7 entriesMacGuffin wrote: seriously though, this was really fun. What would be really nice is if the forum supported embedded music players, especially for activities like this... after all, it's all about the music...
Re: Ableton Live Beat Battle #1 Official Thread
i only got to work on it today, oops
if i get the arrangement done in the next couple of hours i'll submit my shit as well
edit: if it's not too late

yes a music player would be quite useful. When you check out photography forums, users get to share their work all the time, pictures are simply part of how the interwebs work. On audio forums, we don't get as many examples.. of course we can always use those free upload sites, etc. but I think that having to click and go off to another page limits idea sharing, especially while in the middle of a heated debate.
