Top notch Instrument Patches for Operator, ableton?

Post by Hayz » Wed Sep 02, 2009 2:46 pm

Can anyone suggest a good pack of intruments for Ableton - I'm after a real raw sounding sax especially, as need it to sound as close to live perofrmance as possible! SOme of the sax smaples I have don;t sound real enough? I have operator and Live 7! Also, after some new bass patches for Operator if anyone can suggest any?

Cheers
Hayz ;)

Even though Operator is a very powerful synth, I doubt you will get more realism than with samples. It might be more expressive, but not more realistic. I'd suggest better samples or a physical modeling instrument like the one from Arturia called Brass.

It doesn't come cheap, though.

And for the bass presets part, I can't really help, I don't use them but I'm sure there's plenty of that around. Bass is fun and easy to program, especially with Operator. You will get more satisfaction out of programming your own sounds.
