You'd think that companies that make products that cure people of illnesses would have integrity... not so they're in it for the MONEY honey!

Giving dudes boners is way more profitable than helping sick people. Until you get fined billions. Then only slightly less profitable.

What? Drug/pharm companies are some of the most amoral/immoral, back-stabbing, baby-poisoning, do-ANYTHING-for-money, last-people-on-Earth-who-care-about-other-people entities on the planet. Seriously, not far off arms companies, at least the arms companies don't really make any bones about what they do. You can be quite reasonably sure swine/avian flus etc were cooked up in a pharm. co. lab somewhere.

Pfizer are not a very pleasant bunch: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/7982236.stm

1. Most cancer research is funded by charities because curing rich-white-man illnesses like heart disease, type II diabetes and erectile dysfunction is more immediately profitable.

2. Eli Lilly - manufacturers of Prozac - make 30% of their profit from anti-depressants. Which cause physical dependence. In spite of this: http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2008/ ... alresearch

3. It is standard practice for pharma companies to sell medication which requires a course of, say seven doses, in packs of three. Forcing people (or governments, in developed countries) to buy more than they need. I know this from personal experience.

Record != Vinyl. Off Topic, right?

Coincidentally, found this this morning, putting it a little clearer in proportion:

I was diagnosed with seb eczema & chronic psorasis a year ago today...

Never had a skin problem in my life till then, turned 22 and bang, it came on over night and never went since, its ripped my life apart, literally, all that burning and itchy and soreness 24/7 gets you down :(, do the doctors or pharmacy companies give a shit?, noooo, let rather give you a crappy steroid cream that you need to have rest of your life, which giving im 22, might be a while lol.

Naa there the biggest asses on this planet :(

I heard a Pfizer spokesperson on NPR yesterday. That guy was like a walking Pfizer commercial. He kept repeating verbatim the line that 'Pfizer is committed to producing only the best pharmaceutical products and making them accessible blah blah blah'. And this isn't a systemic problem, just the individual actions of people in the company, and Pfizer has such great internal controls, blah blah blah. Basically NPR gave Pfizer a free 2 minute commercial....the guy did not answer any substantial question at all.

How is it that corporations can get away with endangering the health of millions for profit, but regular people get thrown in jail for smoking weed?
