choosing studio monitors
Hi!
I'm about to buy studio monitors.
So far, I've done all my mix on beyer dynamics DT 990 (awsome!) /logitech shit speakers/ipod headphones/my car.
It was working well but now I wana go further, so it's time I buy real monitors.
I'm looking at first entry monitors and I saw in a shop the new JBL LSR2325p, which are AUS $850 the pair (so around 480 Euro or US $700). That would be my budget, but I'm asking you guys if you have any advice in choosing the right monitors for a small room.
So there is the JBL LSR2325p (5''), what about the LSR2328p (8'') ? I think that would be too big as I can't put the volume too loud...
I read that in the same kind of product, there are ADAM A7 and M-Audio CX8. What about those speakers?
Any advice? Thanks !

i have a set of Bluesky Mediadesk 2.1's sitting there doing nothing.
They have a really awesome sound and I've produced and mixed some killer sounding records on those. In fact they sound better than anything you would get for under $2500 or so. The only reason I'm selling them is because I now have a set of Focal Twin monitors ($4k +), drop me a PM if you're into the idea as I'm also based in Sydney.
Cheers

All right, I ended up buying Yam HS50m. Heard it was good for mixing (but harsh !), and relativly cheap

Well, the HS50 were brand new for a really good price. Probably if I had more money I would have baught something bigger...Tone Deft wrote:you didn't get SJ's Blueskies? massive fail.

Btw, the HS50 are popular for their lack of bass... Well the other day I was in a "proper" studio with a pair of mackies HR824. And I was suprised that those 8'' felt the same as my HS50 for the bass : very "calm". There was not those massive bass that I can have on my shit logitech speakers... So, in a way, I'm quite happy with my HS50 so far.
