Hey I felt the conversation had moved on from the "oh shit that sucks" part to the making jokes part, what with the hip-hop listening thieves and all. Of course I don't really mean that, it was just low hanging fruit.

the Ableton forum is a lousy place to seek sympathy.

Tracking computers is very easy as they will ultimately be logged into the internet and make a connection with apple for updates and other things. However, apple and every other company does not bother with tracking computers or anything else for that matter.
In my opinion, this even makes sense as it would be an administrative and legal nightmare. To be honest no company cares enough to to do this cuz it would cost them money. And even if they traced it to an IP address and even some dudes home they would have to go through the issues of contacting the police in Spain (which could care less about foreigners and even less about their possesions).
Bottom line is, its all about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!

Re: Worst day ever!!!
that sucks.
Stuff gets stolen from car boots, and you were pretty naive to think it was safe there. Maybe im just paranoid, but i just assume that anything valuable i leave in a locked car will be gone when i get back.
hope you get some joy from insurance.

Decent philosophy I guess. However, sometimes when traveling your very limited with your choices as to where you can store your stuff. We had already checked out and and all that we had left was our rental.

Your hotel will store your stuff for you in their locked luggage room until youre ready to leave. Of course, if its a dodgy guesthouse then the luggage room is probably less secure than your rentals boot! oh well, maybe the thief will get cancer of the genitals or something.Bizon wrote:adventurepants_ wrote:that sucks.
