Updated pic of my setup in my new flat. Been making a lot of ambient electronic lately, I should sort out getting it online.

I have some monitors and a few hard drives and some other stuff, check http://www.flickr.com/photos/joecavers for some other pics of my stuff.

The laptop stand is a Griffin Elevator, very useful. I'd prefer a Rain Design mStand but they're outta my price range.

The grid box is an Arduinome, a home-built clone of the Monome. It's an open source controller than can be set up to do a fantastic number of things, I'm mainly using it as an instrument to input midi notes in a new format (and approaching composing from a new angle, which is refreshing), but it can do a bunch of stuff with step-sequencing and sample-cutting. I didn't build this one but bought it second-hand from the forum, the original Monome's are handmade, slightly harder to get ahold of and more expensive. If you have some time, look into them on the site, they really are amazing pieces of equipment.

And if you've no patience, check out this video of the Monome app Polygome: http://www.vimeo.com/1381241

Finally I can post some pics. It's not yet complete, the two things I'm craving for are KRK monitors and MoPho. After that I think it'll be pretty complete for my needs.

Through no fault of Ableton - I've gotten so sick of working on computers all the time no matter what the task.... so for the moment I'm all hardware..... but I promise: as soon as I start recording tracks again IT WILL IN ABLETON LIVE :D :D :D

Daffydub -- what are you doing with your TR505? I've used mine as a small sequencer, seems to be what it's best at.

Once again, I have gear envy...! Not that I'd be able to use it all; I can barely finish a track these days...

@ noise

I sequence everything on the monomachine
the 505 goes through the Jomox M-Resonator..... it's a beasty combo - and a great supplement to my other drum sources!

Didn't know the Monomachine had a sequencer. Just read a review of it -- WANT!

I'm actually looking for a hardware sequencer to go with my Yamaha sampler which I'm doing everything on these days. And I've also been wanting a synth - had my eyes set on the Blofeld with it advanced arpeggiator and sampler, but damn. Maybe I should try saving up for a Monomachine instead..
