Yes I'm still seeing this as well - have since at least v6 (when I started using Live seriously).

Since it's not new - my guess is that it has more to do with the arrangement loop markers then the "auto-fade" preference or the new fade features of 8. Almost seems like a hiccup caused by looping.

on a somewhat related note.. I am also seeing what I think is a bug with the new arrangement fade feature.

Version 7 songs are having the auto fade turned on for every audio clip when opened in 8! It's killing my transients and I have to go in and reset all the fades for all audio tracks, which isn't that hard but seems like a serious flaw in it's import of the Live 7 track.

I do of course have the auto fade preference off before opening the tracks. Anybody else seeing this?

Thanks

I have exactly the same problem.

I import an old disco track (which because is played live has a constantly shifting BPM). But when importing it and hitting warp, it creates these little time variations & warbles...really strange, because I haven't done anything yet. Maybe it's because the shifting BPM of the track itself, but I never used to have this in Live 7.
I try to fix it by using the complex pro mode, which kinda helps, but it still remains audible...

Any suggestions anyone?

Hope it can be solved by an update! :)

I'm so used to it that I use it as a creative tool.

It's great for a little "groove" on your bass-lines and drumloops....

Sorry.

I've been experiencing this issue as well, and I e-mailed Ableton tech support about it. I first noticed it when I ran Live's "Driver Error Compensation" session to calibrate my new computer system. Much to my surprise, the first cycle of the sine wave that is used in the session was attenuated. It faded up from zero and reached full volume by the second cycle or so, effectively "cutting off" the attack portion of the sine wave.

What I discovered is that you have to give Live a slight amount of "pre roll" to prevent it from cutting off any attack transients. Example: If you're trying to record a kick drum that begins at bar 9 on the timeline, you have to start recording at 8.4.4. I typically work/record in the arrangement view, so this is easy to set up, but I imagine it would be a lot more tedious to implement in session view.

I have screen captures to illustrate my experience if anyone would like to see them.
