Re: Run Guitar Rig VST through Live
I looked it up and there's a ton of power user-ish stuff that I wouldn't get into, but for 10 and an easy install it's something I'd look into once I got it.. Just need to trigger clips, and use the exp pedals.
There's switch 1 and switch 2 inputs, which I assume would just use a simple sustain pedal or one of those regular switch pedals.. That'd be nice to have the FCB in the middle of my rig, a footswitch on the right for a random function and a foot switch on the left to go with my bass.
Speaking of guitar rig.. Is that any good for metal tones? Not looking for the most crunchiest beefy tone, but something that will go together well with DrumkitFromHell.. My brother has all these idea's and quick riff's he needs to be able to make some scratch tracks that don't sound like fart.

So pedals 1 through 8 can be MIDI CC messages on channel 5, and then 9 and 10 can be two more CC messages on whatever channel I select.. I won't need to use bomes if I set this up in the editor correctly right?
Re: Run Guitar Rig VST through Live
Metal tones, I don't know, not my thing really but I would imagine it's perfectly good at that, seems to have all the shizz with it. But Guitar Rig 4 is due out Oct 1st, check that out on NI's site, they have audio examples too.
No you cannot split the midi channels on the same type of midi message only by midi message type.
Global config will allow you to send CC on one channel, midi note on a different channel and program change on yet another channel.
Then you could program each pedal to send different type of message which will go out on the midi channel you choose for that type of message.

FCB1010 is great! Just a heads up, switch 1 and switch 2 outputs are not designed for more pedal input. You can patch guitar cables from them to your amps channel switch input, then use a assigned FCB1010 button to switch channels on your amps, or reverb on/off for instance.outershpongolia wrote:I looked it up and there's a ton of power user-ish stuff that I wouldn't get into, but for 10 and an easy install it's something I'd look into once I got it.. Thanks for the heads up.. I wouldn't be using it for guitar gear. Strictly MIDI going into Ableton, but I have a sustain pedal set up through my synth anyways which works fine for keeping by the bass guitar.Markemark wrote:FCB1010 is great! Re: Run Guitar Rig VST through Live
The only reason I need CC's on different channels is because I am going to control things that are already mapped out where they need to be on my nanoKONTROL.. So I would probably want to re program the nano rather than trying to match the FCB to what the nano is doing.. But I figured it out.. 1-10 buttons would be CC's on channel 5.. then patch 2 can be more CC's on channel 5 it'll work out fine for me.UKRuss wrote:Metal tones, I don't know, not my thing really but I would imagine it's perfectly good at that, seems to have all the shizz with it. I have Guitar Rig 3 but I use the Rig Kontrol 1, I didn't see the need to buy a new pedal with every update...so I bought a FCB1010 and it gives me the opportunity to control even more parameters than with the normal RK3 and be creative. By the way...Modifiers are awesome.

Re: Run Guitar Rig VST through Live
Hiya, appreciated this but having trouble. We're playing live through ableton and I want to use my behringer fcb1010 to change through patches seamlessly (we want to assign the next and previous patch button to the pedal) for our live show however, our audio channel is sending to channels 3/4 in guitar rig only and doesn't offer channels 1/2 that we need.UKRuss wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2009 7:16 amDrag Guitar Rig onto an audio track, not midi. Then select the input on that channel to match your guitar input on your interface. Arm the track and play.
To control guitar rig via your midi rig Kontrol, open up a midi track adjacent to your audio track and select 'Midi To' to matrch your audio track with guitar rig on it. Another little drop down will pop up underneath it saying Guitar Rig, which shows your midi input is now routed to Guitar Rig on the audio track where your guitar is playing.
Audio coming through GR. Midi going in to control it.
Simples.
It's so frustrating!
So far we can control the switching on the midi channel but as so as we drag onto an audio we lose our control.
Anyone, HELP PLEASE X X
