sidechain compression with external plugins

Hi all,

Just would like to know how you go about setting this up , what i've done so far ; ghost kick channel - audio to -> track with the SC compressor on it. But nothing is working? I've also set the external input of that channel cause it does recognize the sidechain of the compressor but for some reason it won't work. I 've read about using return tracks but can't seem to get my head around it, any help on this matter is more then welcome

are you setting up your ghost channel with the monitor "in" button selected? is your compressor set to side chain mode, so that is listens for input?

Yes and yes , any other tips ?

is it possible ableton doesn't recognize the sidechain inputs of these plugins ?

- fabfilter compressor

Your sending it to the track this way, not to the sidechain input.
Below the audio to box there is another one. Open it, your sidechain input should be there at the bottom.

ya. i forgot to look at what you said closely.

ya, use the second box under the "audio to" box to send to the comp specifically.
