I have started to get error messages telling me that the memory is very low and that a should save my work and exit the program. I have worked with Live for years now - and have never encountered this message or problem on my machine. Even wierder is that I get it when using very little processor intensive tasks - such as bouncing a MIDI track into an audio track (4 bars, or less).
Does anyone have any idea what is going on, and why it just started happening?
I recently wiped the HD, and did a clean install, and then upgraded to 4.1 from 3.0. The problem originated when I had 3.0 installed, but now continues with 4.1.
I have not repaired the permissions, but have tried almost everything else. I run only the basic extensions.
I have a Mac TiBook 550 (OS 9.2.2) with a new 5400 RPM HD and 1 gig of RAM. I use a USB Edirol UA-25 soundcard.
Please help

How much RAM do you have assigned to the Live application?
[click on the Live app > get info(apple-i) > memory]
I run about 800Mb assigned to Live out of 1Gb RAM on my machine in a setup very simillar to yours.
If you bump it right up there, does it fix the problem?

I have my Preferred Size set to 400000, and the minimum / suggested is 162428 K.
I have 1 Gig of RAM - so I guess I could bump it up more.
A friend of mine once told me that I should always make sure that the preferred size is the same as the minimum / suggested size.... is this true?
So with 400 MB allocated to Live - I still get this memory error. I have, in the pasy, successfully run Live with 200000 or lower without any errors, and with it performing FAR better then presently.
